E-invoicing in Greece: myDATA, B2B mandate
Greece is making B2B e-invoicing mandatory, through its myDATA platform. Phase 1 starts on 2 March 2026 for companies with turnover above 1 million euro, phase 2 on 1 October 2026 for the rest. The key point: the invoice has to be transmitted to myDATA and gets a unique identifier there before it counts.
B2B mandate through myDATA: phase 1 from 2.3.2026 (gross turnover above 1 million euro, FY 2023), phase 2 from 1.10.2026 with an adjustment period until 31.12.2026. Basis: EU Council Decision 2025/502, time-limited to 31.12.2027. The model is based on Peppol and EN 16931, delivery runs through myDATA. Vera produces the EN 16931 file; transmission to myDATA is separate.
When does e-invoicing become mandatory in Greece?
The mandate is staggered by turnover. The basis is EU Council Decision 2025/502 of 5 March 2025, which allows Greece to require structured B2B e-invoicing, time-limited from 1 July 2025 until 31 December 2027.
| Date | Obligation | Who |
|---|---|---|
| 2 Mar 2026 | B2B e-invoicing (phase 1) | Gross turnover above 1 million euro (FY 2023) |
| 1 Oct 2026 | B2B e-invoicing (phase 2) | remaining companies, adjustment until 31.12.2026 |
myDATA and the transmission route
myDATA is the digital bookkeeping and reporting platform of the tax authority AADE. The model is based on Peppol and EN 16931, but for B2B, Peppol is not the mandatory transmission route. Instead the invoice is sent to myDATA and gets a unique identifier (UID) there before it counts as valid.
